Rioja July 2009 Newsletter

Please make a note that this week is the last week of trading at RIOJA & BAROCCA. We will be closing for our annual holiday from MONDAY 6th JULY & reopening TUESDAY 28th JULY for normal trading hours.

When we reopen we will have our new menu in full swing, including a lighter lunch option.
We are also introducing a new takeaway menu, as well as a DELIVERY SERVICE.
Delivery will be available for a minimal R10 charge, to all of you in the Valley – from Noordhoek to Imhoffs Gift.
Now you don’t even need to leave your house to eat delicious cuisine!

A big thanks to all of you who came to watch the MARK SAMPSON comedy show before he heads off on his national tour. Great shows & we are glad that he received fantastic support from you all.

Local band “FUSE’ (formerly Fusion) played in BAROCCA last Friday & they were brilliant. They play a mix of contemporary and mellow jazz. Good news for all you jazz fans out there. They will be come a regular feature on Friday nights at BAROCCA from August.
Come and support them, there is NO COVER CHARGE.

Our new wine list is up & running and has some really superb choices for you. Some of our favourites include the Manley Syrah. A small estate in Tulbach, with award winning vino. Nitida Cabernet Sauvignon from Durbanville. An excellent full bodied & velvety smooth wine. Haut Espoir Gentle Giant. A superb blend from this wonderful estate in Franschhoek.

Tracey Bradley arranged a charity event at BAROCCA 1st July. It was well attended and everyone was asked to bring a blanket to donate to those less fortunate. RIOJA provided the hot & hearty soup & superb wines from DE MEYE were a great addition! A much needed event & those receiving the blankets will be truly thankful for people like Tracey, in these chilly winter months.
Next up will be TEARS & SPCA donations please. So everyone, think about those less fortunate cats & dogs & what they need. Food & blankets will be well received for sure. You are welcome to bring in anything for them to RIOJA & we will pass it on. We shall keep you posted on that one.
